
The IBPS PO Exam is conducted every year. It is organized by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). IBPS PO 2025 Exam Date Out
The new exam dates for IBPS PO 2025 have been revised. This applies to both Prelims and Mains Exams. The new IBPS Calendar 2025 has been released. This year, the IBPS PO Prelims Exam will be held on 17th, 23rd, and 24th August 2025. The Mains Exam will be conducted on 12th October 2025. IBPS PO 2025 Online Application
All Eligible and interested Candidates are required to register online for the recruitment process on the official IBPS website, @ibps.in. The application process is said to be completed when you submit the duly filled application form with the required fee. It also requires the uploading of your signature, photographs, IBPS PO Handwritten Declaration, and documents. The 3-tiered selection process consists of Preliminary and Main Exams which will be conducted online, followed by Interviews. Candidates must pass each exam to get shortlisted and progress to the next stage. The final selection will be based on Mains and Interview merit.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2025
Before you aim to appear for the IBPS PO 2025 exam, make sure you meet the official eligibility requirements. These include your educational qualifications, age, nationality, and even computer literacy. Let’s break down the eligibility criteria in simple terms so you know exactly where you stand.
Educational Qualification for IBPS PO 2025
To be eligible for the IBPS PO 2025 exam, you must hold a graduation degree. The degree can be in any stream from a recognized university. Whether you studied Arts, Science, Commerce, or Engineering — it doesn’t matter. Your degree must be from a university approved by the Government of India. Alternatively, it can hold an equivalent status as recognized by the Central Government. If it does, you’re good to go.
💡 Important Note: At the time of registration, you must already be a graduate. So, make sure you have your degree certificate or mark sheet in hand. You’ll also need to mention the percentage of marks you obtained in your graduation when filling out the online application.
Computer Literacy – A Must for IBPS PO
Since the IBPS PO exam is conducted online, having a basic knowledge of computer systems is essential. The job role of a Probationary Officer involves working with computers daily. This skill is not just a requirement for the exam. It is also necessary for the job itself.
Nationality/Citizenship Criteria
You don’t necessarily have to be an Indian citizen to apply — but there are specific conditions. You can apply for IBPS PO 2025 if you fall under any one of the following categories:
- An Indian citizen
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
- A Tibetan refugee who moved to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention to settle here permanently
- A Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who migrated from countries like Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, or from East African nations such as Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Ethiopia, Zaire, or Malawi — with the intention of permanent settlement in India

IBPS PO 2025 Exam Pattern
IBPS introduced separate sectional timing for each section in the preliminary exam. The IBPS PO exam (CRP XIII) for hiring candidates will have an online written exam in two parts. The first part is the Tier 1 or IBPS Preliminary Exam. The second part is the Tier 2 or IBPS Mains Exam. This examination is followed by a face-to-face interview process.
IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern 2025
The IBPS PO preliminary examination has a duration of 20 minutes for each section. The exam will be conducted in online mode. It consists of 3 sections with a total of 100 questions and a maximum score of 100 marks. There is a negative marking in the IBPS PO pre-exam and 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates must clear the cut-off in all 3 sections to qualify for the IBPS PO Main exam. The section-wise details are given below:

Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. IBPS will shortlist an adequate number of candidates for each category. This depends on the requirements for the Online Main Examination.
IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern 2025
The IBPO PO Main exam is also conducted online. It has 5 (4+1) sections with a total score of 200+25 marks. The total duration is 160+30 minutes. IBPS will conduct a descriptive paper in the mains exam. This is for selecting candidates for the post of Probationary Officer. Candidates must attempt the sections in the same order. They must follow the allotted time as mandated at the time of the exam. A candidate has to clear both preliminary and mains examinations to be eligible for the interview process.

Penalty for Wrong Answers: Marks are deducted for wrong answers in the Objective Tests. This applies to both Preliminary and Mains exams. Marks are deducted for incorrect answers. If a candidate answers an objective question incorrectly, there will be a penalty. The penalty will be one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question. For example, 0.25 marks will be deducted as a penalty for a wrong answer to a question that carries 1 mark. There will be no penalty for leaving a question blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by the candidate.
IBPS PO Interview
The candidates who have qualified for the mains exam are called for a face to face interview. This interview carries a maximum of 100 marks. The minimum qualifying mark in the interview is 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).
The interview round is generally 15-20 minutes long. A panel of bank officials asks questions to the candidates. These questions are about themselves, the banking sector, current affairs, and general awareness. The candidates must be well dressed, confident and carry all required documents to the interview.
The final merit list is prepared based on marks obtained in the main examination and interview. IBPS calculates the final score by giving a weightage to the marks. The marks for the main examination and the interview are in the ratio of 80:20 respectively.
Final Score Calculation for IBPS PO Exam
The final score for the IBPS PO exam is calculated keeping the following points in mind:
• Marks obtained in the Preliminary Exam (Tier-1) will not be considered in the final score. They are only for qualifying to Mains Exam (Tier-2).
• Candidates must qualify for Phase-2 and Interview separately to be eligible for final merit.
• The weightage (ratio) of IBPS PO Main exam and interview for the final merit list will be 80:20 respectively.
• The aggregate score out of 100 is used for the final merit list for each category. Candidates with top merit rank in each category are finally selected.

The initial in-hand salary of an IBPS Probationary Officer is Rs. 74,000 to 76,000 with dearness allowances, special allowances, and other benefits. IBPS PO 2025 Admit Card & Call Letter
Candidates must download the IBPS PO 2025 admit card from the official website of the bank. The hard copy of the IBPS PO Admit Card will not be sent to the candidate via post. To login on to the official website, the candidates will require the following:

The admit card will be made available 10 to 15 days before the IBPS PO 2025 Exam. The admit card or call letter for IBPS PO Exam 2025 will be issued in 3 phases:
