रूप गंभीर और साहसी था जबकि बसंत कोमल हृदय और कला में निपुण। दोनों बचपन से ही हर कार्य एक साथ करते, हर दुःख-सुख एक साथ झेलते। राजा को भी अपने पुत्रों पर गर्व था और वे चाहते थे कि भविष्य में दोनों मिलकर राज्य को संभालें।

एक दिन राजा बीमार पड़ गए। वैद्यों ने बताया कि बीमारी गंभीर है और एक दिव्य औषधि ही उन्हें ठीक कर सकती है, जो बहुत दूर एक रहस्यमयी वन में होती है, जिसे “चंद्रलोक वन” कहा जाता था। वहां तक पहुँचना अत्यंत कठिन था और रास्ता खतरों से भरा हुआ था।

रूप ने तुरंत कहा, “मैं पिता के लिए औषधि लेने जाऊँगा।” पर बसंत ने मना कर दिया, “भैया, आप बड़े हैं। आपको राज्य की ज़िम्मेदारी संभालनी चाहिए। मैं जाऊँगा।”

लेकिन अंत में तय हुआ कि दोनों भाई एक साथ जाएंगे।

🏞 अद्भुत यात्रा

दोनों भाइयों की यात्रा शुरू हुई। उन्होंने रास्ते में कई बाधाओं का सामना किया — जंगल में राक्षस, नदी पार करते समय मगरमच्छ, और पहाड़ों में चोरों का सामना। लेकिन उनका आपसी प्रेम और साहस हर बार उन्हें बचा लेता।

रूप ने तुरंत कहा, “मैं अपना जीवन भी बसंत के लिए दे सकता हूँ।” और बसंत ने उत्तर दिया, “अगर मेरा जीवन भैया को बचाने में जाए, तो वही मेरा सौभाग्य होगा।”

परी मुस्कराई और उन्हें आगे का रास्ता बता दिया।

🌸 चंद्रलोक वन और परीक्षा

चंद्रलोक वन में पहुँचना आसान नहीं था। वहाँ एक विशाल नाग औषधि की रक्षा करता था। उसने कहा, “औषधि वही ले जा सकता है जो सबसे सच्चा भाई हो।”

नाग ने उन्हें एक परीक्षा दी। उसने बसंत को मारने का नाटक किया और देखा कि रूप कैसे प्रतिक्रिया करता है। रूप ने रोते हुए कहा, “अगर मेरे भाई को कुछ हुआ, तो मैं यह औषधि कभी नहीं लूंगा।” और जब नाग ने रूप को घायल किया, बसंत ने अपने प्राण दाँव पर लगा दिए।

नाग संतुष्ट हुआ और बोला, “तुम दोनों सच्चे भाई हो। यह औषधि तुम्हारा अधिकार है।”

🏰 वापसी और न्याय

दोनों भाई औषधि लेकर लौटे और राजा को स्वस्थ किया। राजा ने राज्य का उत्तराधिकारी बनाने की बात की, लेकिन दोनों ने कहा, “हम राज्य साथ मिलकर चलाएँगे, जैसे अब तक साथ लड़े हैं।”

समय बीता, रूप और बसंत ने राज्य को न्याय और प्रेम से चलाया। उनके नाम की मिसालें दी जाने लगीं। लोगों ने कहा — “ऐसे भाई दोबारा इस धरती पर शायद ही आएं।”
