धीरे-धीरे बंदर और मगरमच्छ की दोस्ती गहरी होती गई। मगरमच्छ हर रोज़ बंदर के पास आता और उससे फल लेकर जाता। एक दिन, मगरमच्छ ने बंदर से कहा, “मेरी पत्नी को तुम्हारे फल बहुत पसंद आए हैं। क्या तुम मुझे कुछ और फल दे सकते हो?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

बंदर ने खुशी-खुशी और फल तोड़कर मगरमच्छ को दे दिए। मगरमच्छ ने फल लेकर अपने घर लौटते हुए सोचा, “अगर मेरी पत्नी को ये फल इतने पसंद हैं, तो क्यों न मैं उस बंदर का दिल भी ले आऊँ? वह तो और भी मीठा होगा!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

अगले दिन, मगरमच्छ ने बंदर से कहा, “मेरी पत्नी तुमसे मिलना चाहती है। वह तुम्हारे लिए कुछ विशेष पकवान बनाई है। क्या तुम मेरे साथ चलोगे?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

बंदर ने खुशी से हाँ कह दी और मगरमच्छ की पीठ पर बैठ गया। जैसे ही वे नदी के बीच में पहुँचे, मगरमच्छ ने बंदर से कहा, “मैं तुम्हें डुबोने वाला हूँ क्योंकि मेरी पत्नी तुम्हारा दिल खाना चाहती है।”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

बंदर ने तुरंत अपनी बुद्धिमानी दिखाई और बोला, “अरे मगरमच्छ भाई, तुमने मुझे पहले ही बता दिया होता तो मैं अपना दिल पेड़ पर छोड़ आता। चलो वापस चलते हैं, मैं तुम्हें अपना दिल दे दूंगा।”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
